#tokclimate

TALK CLIMATE, NOT JUST WEATHER.

Great Britain and several other European and non-European countries are quite used to fickle weather and hence people for centuries have been using small talk about the weather as a social ice-breaker.

With the desperate situations these countries and the rest of the world are currently facing with climate change destroying nature, homes, lives, livelihoods and future of the young, it is time to talk about the climate change and not just weather. Because all big and small actions start with a dialogue and these climate conversations too can ensure that each and every person is aware of their role in combating climate change and act on it, in their won interest.

Often the criticism is that, individual action is inadequate to combat a mammoth challenge like climate change but we tend to forget that countries, governments and giant corporations which often are believed to be capable of bringing the bigger changes are all made up of individual, like you and me. So, if these individuals change their ways, big changes will follow.

With #tokclimate, a Big Synergy Initiative, Centre for big Synergy with its army of dedicated volunteers is opening up climate conversions around the UK and parts of the world to engage everyone to bring the much needed (and already-delayed) changes in their lives, work and all around them. Because it is only through our collective action can we protect our present and future from the existential threat of climate change.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

#tokclimate aims to reach  a million people in the UK within the next year though various channels including volunteers to inspire them to start conversations (no matter how trivial they may sound initially) around climate change.

Similar targets are sought in other EU and non-EU nations as well through regional partners of Centre for Big Synergy.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Anyone can participate in the campaign by initiating a conversation about climate change starting with the weather of the day! These could be with their friends and family to begin with, followed on by neighbours, colleagues and even complete strangers.

Learn more about the causes and impact of climate change and also about our actions that can  combat climate change, from the United Nations website, if you may need to beef up your knowledge and understanding of the evolving scenarios.

And finally, to spread the planet-saving virus of #tokclimate, please do share your conversations (videos ideally) via LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook and tag our social media accounts (links below) or add us as a collaborator so that we can amplify as well.
